Magellan RoadMate App & Premium Car Kit

There’s an app for that!  Well, actually there are a ton of navigation apps!  A few months ago, I reviewed the Magellan RoadMate 3065 (http://gottahavegadget.com/?p=871) so I was anxious to put the RoadMate App to the test.  To my surprise, the Magellan RoadMate app had all the functions of the stand alone GPS.  If you are a data subscriber, you even get the Magellan Traffic Updates (in select areas).  I never really liked using my iPhone for a GPS as the battery seemed to drain quickly, Magellan took care of that with the Magellan Premium Car Kit!  Read the rest of this entry »

Irwin Tools Ultimate Tradesman Challenge

It started out with 16,000 contestants and was narrowed down to 6 this past weekend.  I have written how unskilled I am with tools, so it was amazing to me to see real Tradesman working their craft.  When it was all said and done, Daniel “Bam Bam” Shepherd a carpenter from Halifax England, stood alone as the Ultimate Tradesman!  In this contest, the contestants had to remove two different sized pipe fittings using the Irwin Vise Grip Groovelock pliers, then use an Irwin Square and pencil to mark three lines on a 2x4x24 piece of wood, secure the wood, cut the wood, then drill two holes (all using Irwin tools of course) and placing the board into two pegs unveiled when the pipe fittings were removed.  Read the rest of this entry »

Tron: Evolution, Sims3

Video games seem like they have been around forever!  Yes, I will be dating myself once again saying I remember playing “pong” and “battle tanks” on one of the original video game systems.  Some old school games are making a comeback.  In the days of A, B, X, Y, RT, LT, RB and LB one game that is making its way back to the playing field is Mega Man.  It was actually pretty funny watching my son get frustrated over a two button game.  Read the rest of this entry »

Duck Hunter Review

By

Kailen Richards The MGG aka “The Mini-Gadget Guy”

My name is Kailen and I am seven years old. My Uncle Mikey has lots of cool stuff, he calls them gadgets. He is always getting new gadgets and he loves to show them to me and my whole family. It doesn’t matter to me what he calls them as long as I get to play with them.

Last month, he asked me to help him out. He said I have a really cool thing that looks like a duck and can fly around the room or yard. So I said, Sweet!

He then showed me how to make it fly. All I had to do was put the duck on the tip of the charger and hold the lever for 10 or 11 seconds. Then I took the duck off the charger and flipped the switch to ON. The wings started flapping and I tossed the duck into the air and it flew around the room. My dog Holly chased the flying duck all over the house.

Then my Uncle Mikey said, Why do you think the charger is shaped like a gun?
So I said, I dont know, why is the charger shaped like a gun?
Then he told me the coolest thing of all, he said, So you can shoot the duck down out of the sky!
Then I said, AWESOME!!!! Read the rest of this entry »

Margaritaville® Cordless Frozen Concoction Maker®

width=192

Ill admit it, when it comes to frozen drinks, I suck at making them.  The blender never seems to chop the ice just right, or the beverage to ice ratio is off.  But the folks at Margaritaville® have made me a better bartender with their ultimate Margaritaville® Cordless Frozen Concoction Maker®.  I hesitated calling it a frozen concoction maker, however, there is no way I can call this a blender.  Where do I start?  Read the rest of this entry »

Xbox 360 and EA SPORTS; It’s in the Game! Madden NFL 11, NHL 11

width=154

I have said it here before and I will say it again, EA SPORTS Rock!.  It cant be easy coming up with new features to add year after year, however EA SPORTS does it time and time again.  Madden NFL 11 now has GameFlow which is an offensive coordinator that can call the plays for you, and gives you tips right in your headset.  This is perfect for two player games.  No longer can your buddy narrow down you play to 1 of 3 choices when he peeks over at your plays.  I’m not too keen on all the in-game advertising, but other than that, I love the new Madden NFL 11. Watching a PGA tour player strike the ball is a beautiful thing.  Watching me strike the ball would probably suck the life out of your game.  The Tour Striker Pro is designed for single digit handicappers.  I am just on the outside of that range, considered myself a good ball stricker, so I went for the tour Striker Pro.  When the Tour Striker Pro showed up at the door, the look of this 7-iron was a little intimidating.  Read the rest of this entry »

Contour Design RollerMouse

width=300

Every golfer is worried about an injury that could sideline them for the season.  Believe me I have missed a golf season and it killed me not being able to go out and play 18 holes.  You are well aware of the broken arm or leg that would put you on the other side of the ropes; however what you may not think of is a simple day to day activity that could cause injury too.  That day to day activity is something almost everyone does, use a computer and mouse.  Carpel tunnel syndrome or golfers elbow from constant movement could not only put you out for a season, but could put you out indefinitely.  One of the most important features of your swing is the grip on the club.  Contour Design manufactures a variety of ergonomic products to help with your day to day computer activities.  Read the rest of this entry »
