Hitachi Global Storage Technologies SimpleTOUGH™ portable USB drive
by admin on Jan.10, 2010, under Computers
I cannot stress enough how important it is to back up your computer. As a matter of fact half way through this article, my regular laptop died. Fortunately I had the Hitachi Global Storage Technologies SimpleTOUGH™ portable USB drive. Right before I start to write this article, I backed-up my files and even did an “easy file transfer” just in case. I was so happy I did because the laptop continued to randomly shut off. Not only was it annoying, but I would lose several paragraphs I wrote. So I connected the SimpleTOUGH via the USB cable to the new laptop, and all my files, settings, pictures and music was transferred. It took me about 45 minutes to do a back-up of my files. I typically run the back-up just before I go to bed and let it run. When I woke up the next morning, I simply did the file transfer which literally saved this column. To easily back-up and transfer your computer files, visit http://www.simpletech.com/products/storage/simpletough/ . With 500 gigs of memory, this external hard drive can host all your pictures, music, videos and will ensure they are in a safe place for years to come!
Retrevo.com and Optimization-world.com

I typically don’t promote other websites, but I truly believe these two sites will help my readers. When you are about to purchase a “Gadget” check out Retrevo.com. Type in a make or model number and get feedback and reviews all in one location. Retrevo.com does the searching for you so you have all the information you need prior to your purchase. There are also tools you can use while you are out shopping!! Another thing I like about Retrevo.com is there HUGE database of user manuals. If you have a TV, DVD player, GPS or almost any gadget, chances are if you lost your manual, Retrevo.com will have it. Don’t believe me, try it for yourself, visit http://retrevo.com/samples/index.html and search for your make or model.
If you are lucky enough to receive a new HDTV or Blu-Ray Player or even the Xbox360 gaming console, ultimately you may need new audio/video cables. You can go to your local store and pay big bucks for these cables, or you can go to www.optimization-world.com and buy the same quality cables at a significant savings. I have been looking for a site like this for years. It drives me crazy paying big bucks for cables. If you find yourself in need of new video, audio, or computer cables, www.optimization-world.com has cables, wall plates, speaker wire, adapters basically everything you need for your new computer, TV or DVD player.

SimpleTech Signature Mini-USB Hard Drive
by admin on Mar.27, 2009, under Computers

I have been writing a golf version of this column for West Coast Golfer for about a year. When you write a column like this you get a lot of high-resolution images and press material. I have an older laptop, and all this material was taking up a lot of space on my hard drive. That issue was quickly fixed with the SimpleTech Signature Mini USB Drive. When I opened up the package, my first thought was, “OK this thing is pretty small, how much space will it really free up on my laptop?” This mini USB hard drive holds 500 gigs! Simply moving all the high-resolution photos, and my iTunes music library free up almost the entire hard drive on my laptop. My laptop is running fast again, and it is extremely easy to plug in the SimpleTech Signature Mini USB Drive and access any of the files I moved to this drive. It is also a great drive to use to back-up all your important data. Not too many people utilize a back-up drive and then become devastated if they get a virus or a major hard drive crash. Don’t put yourself in a position to lose all your data, be prepared by visiting www.simpletech.com.
