Philips makes some great gifts that are perfect for the holiday season. In keeping with the iPod touch/iPhone theme earlier, the Philips DC315 docking system would be a great gift for the business executive on your holiday list. What is cool about this system is you can dock your iPod touch or iPhone, connect the system to your PC via a USB cable and synchronize your contacts, to-do list and calendar. All that with the ability to accept calls via your Bluetooth connection and an audio system that sounds great, all while charging your iPod touch or iPhone. Read the rest of this entry
The problem with most high school students or teens who want to improve their game is they are probably using hand me down clubs from Dad or found a set at a yard sale. This can be a problem as the clubs can be too long for someone who is still growing, or using beginners set where the flex of the shaft is great for beginners, but not young adults trying to make the high school team. Nike Golf offers a great set of irons geared toward the growing teen, called the Nike Slingshot 4D Junior Irons. These clubs are slightly shorter than standard clubs, and offer more forgiveness for beginning golfers. This will allow younger golfers to learn the feel of a good swing, and still get good distance from miss hits. The set includes 4-AW, which allows for a hybrid to replace the lower irons. These clubs are moderately priced, which makes them a very affordable last minute score! Check out the full specs at www.nikegolf.com.

There will be a bunch of people who get a new High Definition Television for a gift. What these people will soon realize is picture quality is only half the need for a great viewing experience. Then they will start to look into expensive 7.1 surround sound systems that are not only costly but nearly impossible to hide all the wires around your living room. Well for great audio; look no further than the Polk Audio SurroundBar® SDA® Instant Home Theater. Im torn in picking out its best feature. Great sound that fills the room has to be the best feature right? Or is it the ease of setting up this self contained system with wireless subwoofer that can be up and running within minutes, or is it the price? It all comes back to the great sound of this little bar. The best compliment I can give the Polk Audio SurroundBar® SDA® Instant Home Theatre happened the other day. While getting ready for the big game, I had three different people tell me my TV sounds so much better than theirs. I had to explain to them that TV manufacturers are trying to make HDTVs so small now they are cutting and sacrificing when it comes to sound. I had to point out the SurroundBar as it blends in so nicely with my system. They, like me, were in shock when they heard the Polk Audio SDA® Surround Sound. I could go into all the technical details of why this sounds so great, but it would be better said from the audio gurus at Polk Audio. To get a sense of how this system works, visit www.polkaudio.com. If you dont understand all the technical aspects, I can tell you with movies or playing a game on your Xbox360, you will be hard pressed to find better audio.
Since I have recommended a lot of electronics, this next item fits perfectly! If your kitchen counter looks anything like mine, you have cell phones, Blackberry, iPods and other items being charged and wires sticking up everywhere. The Powermat allows you to charge multiple devices on one Powermat. Once connected, simply place your device on the Powermat and you will have a full charge in no time. The Powermat also works with various devices such as cell phones, GPS systems, Bluetooth headsets and more. Simply visit www.powermat.com, type in what you need to charge, and the site will tell you exactly what you need to be up and running. So for a gadget guy like me, the Powermat not only helps to organize the counter top, but has everything I need in one central location so when I leave the house I have all my gadgets fully charged and ready to go!
I have to share some exciting news. The Xbox 360 Elite has dropped $100 in price to a new MSRP of $299. The Elite console comes with a massive 120 gig hard drive, headset and network cable, and for the holidays, two games Lego Batman and Pure. I love the game selection as it gives you something for the entire family. For the golfers in the family, test your skills against the best in EA SPORTS Tiger Woods PGA TOUR10. What I love about writing this column is from time to time I find products or manufacturers that I was just unaware of, however they make really nice items. STX Golf sent me their latest Envision TR putter. What makes this putter unique from others is the STX soft face technology. This is very different from most putters on the market, and gave me a different feel for my putting stroke. The ball releases from the soft face smooth and reduces ball skid which is vital for accurate putts. The design is sleek and simple which gives added confidence when standing over your putt looking down at the ball. STX Golf makes a variety of styles for putters and has other training devices and accessories as well. If you are looking for a unique putter for someone on your shopping list visit STX Golf on-line at www.stxgolf.com.
